Team Group goes crazy with Low-Voltage DDR3-2200 kit!

As the launch of Core i5-700 and i7-800 series approaches next week, the engineers at Team Group decided to launch a series of DDR3 memory kits that will make overclocker's heart cringe. But what makes this product line-up a little bit special is the fact that even the fastest DDR3-2200 memory kit does not surpass Intel's voltage limitation of 1.65V.
Xtreem LV [LV stands for Low Voltage] series is consisted out of memory kits at 1600, 1866, 2000, 2133 and majestic 2200 MHz. In pure numbers, DDR3-2200 kit gives you system bandwidth of no less than 35.2 GB/s on a dual-channel system! In comparison, Core i7-900 series processor with its triple-channel memory controller and DDR3 memory at 1333 MHz achieves "only" 31.99 GB/s.
According to the press release, Team Group managed to achieve production-grade kits at these crazy speeds by optimizing the DRAM cells and SPD chip with Intel's memory controller, and building the modules using an 8-layer PCB [Printed Circuit Board]. Given the previous pedigree of Team Group among overclockers, we are looking forward to seeing this computer memory and put it through its paces. You might have noticed previews of Core i5 and Core i7 processors at different sites that have flexible agreements with Intel, and the DDR3 memory kits used in preliminary tests achieved as high as 2400 MHz, yet unseen clocks for a system memory.
The DDR3-1600 comes with 6-7-6-18 latency, DDR3-1866 packs 7-7-7-21, while DDR3-2000, 2133 and 2200 all come with the same latency: 9-9-9-21-2T. All modules are available in 1GB and 2GB capacities, e.g. 2GB [2x1GB] and 4GB [2x2GB] Dual Channel kits.
