Through what appears as a series of controlled leaks, we learned yesterday that RIM is working on three new BlackBerrys and today brought us alleged shots showing a purported new version of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone that an unnamed source leaked to the SamFirmware.com site.
As you can see from a pair of shots included here for the sake of completeness, the device looks like a shrunken version of the regular Galaxy S smartphone. Samsung is apparently set to show it off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona scheduled to run from February 14-17.
The Samsung S5830, or Samsung Galaxy S Mini, should run Android Froyo and could carry a five-megapixel camera on its back. Little was known at press time beyond the most basic specs. So, without further ado, here are the features the source was been able to dig about this alleged product.
Samsung Galaxy S specs
- Android 2.2.1 Froyo
- five-megapixel camera with LED flash that takes images of up to 2560 x 1920 pixel resolution
- 3.5 headphone jack
- Micro SD card slot
- Micro USB port
