The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Network is adding a new series. Hollywood High Tech will install high-end customized technology in the homes of well-known celebrities per an announcement at CES. The makeovers will be accomplished by Janna Robinson, a lifestyle technology expert.
Her self proclaimed mission is to educate and empower people about technology by making it approachable, fashionable and fun. Her track record includes upgrading the homes of Paris Hilton, Rob Lowe and Fergie. Runco by Planar will provide video display as the homes are updated.
Crestron Electronics, the global leader in advanced home control and automation systems, is a co sponsor the launch party. Crestron Executive Vice President, Randy Klein says:
The series introduces lifestyle technology products and the custom installation process to a national audience, and we are thrilled to give viewers an inside look at how the latest home technology brings luxury convenience to every home.
Beneficiaries of the makeovers will include Transformers' Josh Duhamel; Khloe Kardashian who is no stranger to reality TV, with husband Lamar Odom of Laker basketball fame; and Entourage stars Kevin Connoll and Jeremy Piven. They'll all be in front of the camera as the consultation meeting moves to the finished project.

The series premier is six months away, but CES is the perfect venue, and the Crazy Horse Theater in the MGM grand is a great place for showing teaser clips. The theater has showcased other events as well, such as performances by Carmen Electra.
Press were invited to view previews of the show on a Runco WindowWall tiled LCD wall with a 92-inch overall diagonal size and greater-than-HD resolution. The displays in the star's homes will be coordinated to fit their room size and their color scheme using FinishPalette. Every star deserves a quality home theater where they can watch themselves perform larger than life. Runco technical experts are involved in the room designs for these celebrity installations and will offer ongoing consultation on-site during the installation and final calibration of the projector.

Digital Den – Runco SC1 and 4 Plasma Wall Displays
To accommodate a true multi-media family, HomeTronics, an authorized dealer in Texas, satisfied one client by giving each family member their own Runco display. Runco has both LightStyle and VideoXtreme projectors. The series will feature not only video, but lighting, wireless security webcams, all the way to whole house automation. The best part is hat viewers will pick up helpful information to help them evaluate and choose hi-tech options for their own homes.
Planar Systems, under its brand, Runco is a founding member of the trade organization Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) who is co-sponsoring the Crazy Horse party for the DIY Network series launch.
Planar Systems, traded on Nasdaq (PLNR) is a global leader of specialty display technology for hospitals, space and military programs, utility and transportation hubs, shopping centers, and home theater. Utz Baldwin, CEO of CEDIA says:
This show will give DIY Network viewers a never-before-seen look at the hi-tech solutions CEDIA members can deliver for entertainment, comfort, safety and convenience.
