Cool Video Doodle for Charlie Chaplin's Birthday Anniversary on Google.com

This is just too cool not to be mentioned. Today is Charlie Chaplin's 122nd birthday anniversary so Google did a Doodle to mark the occasion, like they usually do in celebration of famous individuals or events from our history. But instead of just tweaking the logo on the main Google.com search page, they embedded a nice little video in place of the logo graphics. This is the first video Doodle promoted on the main search page, if memory serves me well. Go ahead and check it out on Google.com or watch the embedded video at the article bottom.

The clip, which cleverly recreates the silent film era, has an unmistakable Charlie Chaplin feel to it. But look closer - it's a Google-made video edited to look like a century-old footage (yes, there's an app for that). You even get the audio on and off switch to re-create the ultimate silent movie atmosphere. It just blows my mind that the movies a century ago had no voiceover or dialogue whatsoever. Then again, the audiences didn't mind. Remarkable...
