HTC Desire HD Goes Gingerbread

HTC Support page announced that from today, owners of HTC Desire HD and Incredible S smartphones are (finally) getting an update to Android 2.3, codenamed Gingerbread.
HTC Desire HD following the OTA update to Gingerbread
Update will be avaliable online and over the air through Wi-Fi. You can check if the update is avaliabe : MENU > Settings > About Phone> Software Information > Software number.
New Buid number after the upgrade shoud be 2.36.405.5/ Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
If you have some important data on the phone it would be best to do the backup before the upgrade. Note that the first change you'll see is the new notifications menu, as pictured below:
