Adobe and Sony Team up for "Next-Gen Tablet Devices"
7/13/2011 by: Theo Valich
Sony is preparing to enter Tablet space in the fall of this year. Their two tablets, codenamed S1 and S2 represent an interesting take on the market. The dual 5" tablet is certainly going to be quite an interesting take on the subject and in order to have the applications ready, Sony is teaming up with Adobe.
Adobe and Sony AIR App Challenge
The two companies launched a contest in which a single winner will walk with up to $130,000 in cash prize. Overall, more than $200,000 will be handed out to developers who create the best app which utilizes Sony's tablets. The catch 22 is that the app needs to be developed using Adobe's set of tools, as the contest name is Adobe AIR App Challenge.
The idea is to deliver an app that combines Adobe Flash and HTML5 to "deliver the perfect combination of hardware, content and network with seamless usability for a high-quality, engaging entertainment experience."
You have until September 16 to submit a working app. Winners will be announced on November 17.
