E3 2012 [Los Angeles, CA] - Origin PC of Miami, Florida caught a big break this week, as Namco Bandai used their systems at E3 to drive demos of their upcoming PC titles, Star Trek & Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.
Along with their “Genesis” line of extreme desktop systems, Eddy Piedra and Jorge Percival of Origin PC gave us a quick rundown of their newest gaming laptops, the EON 11S and 17S:
The EON 11S is a repurposed Clevo-based notebook, similar to Maingear’s “Pulse” 11-inch contender, but available in a wider range of colors and upgrade options. Weighing in at 3.8 pounds, this Nvidia GT 650M toting notebook is advertised to handle all the latest PC titles. Pair that with Intel’s newest Ivy Bridge processors, and NVIDIA’s Optimus power saving technology, the EON 11S trumpets an impressive battery life of up to 6.5 hours.
The EON 17S is Origin PC’s new mobile workhorse based off of Intel’s HM77 Ivy Bridge chipsets. Their selection of desktop-grade CPUs can be factory-overclocked up to 4.8 GHz. The 17.3’’ 1080p display is driven by either the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M, 670M or 675M graphics with Optimus technology, and even sports a 5.1 ONKYO surround sound system. There’s even a backlit keyboard with switchable LED colors.
Both laptops have the same connectivity options, including USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4a, VGA, Audio, card readers and so on. However both models do not have an optical drives. Origin PC stands behind their work by rigorously testing systems for 72 hours before shipment, and proudly offer US-based 24/7 technical support.
The EOS 11S and 17S are now available, for a base price of $999 and $1525 USD respectively.
