On 12/11, Intel announced the Atom S1200 series, (codename: Centerton). Immediately, the problem is obvious: ULV Xeon E3 part based on the 22nm "Ivy Bridge" at 17W has a very significant performance-per-watt advantage.

On Tuesday, Intel introduced the server variant of their Atom processor. Formerly known under the codename Centerton, it will now be productized as Atom S1200 series and is available immediately.
